Getting the most out of Custom ID URL’s
My favorite usage of a Custom ID is for fast impromptu meetings. I can tell someone a short easy to remember URL and instantly we’re in a real-time conference.
Here’s an example:
Let’s just say your Custom Room ID is “John” and you have a VyewBook called “newideas“, this VyewBook can be accessed instantly by entering the following simple URL into your browser:

Vyew will automatically resolve to the full VyewBook address:

Share your VyewBooks without formal invitations
Let’s say that John is on the phone with an associate, Sarah, and he wants her to see his VyewBook. He can tell her to go the web address www.vyew.com/john/newideas. If John has set the Access Control for this VyewBook to “Open to Anyone“, Sarah will be able to join the VyewBook immediately:

If John doesn’t want his VyewBook to be “Open to Anyone“, but still wants to allow quick access without invitations, he can set a VyewBook password. When Sarah goes to the VyewBook, she can just enter the password to gain access:

Start impromptu, ad-hoc meetings fast
What if you’re on the phone and you’re trying to explain something complicated?
Sketch it in a VyewBook! Here’s a typical scenario:
Sarah: I’m not sure I understand what you’re trying to describe.
John: Are you in front of a computer?
Sarah: Yes.
John: OK, go to vyew.com/john

When John clicks on “CREATE NEW VYEWBOOK“, he has the option of bringing Sarah into the newly created VyewBook:

This will give John a fresh slate to visually share his ideas with Sarah inside Vyew.
How can you get a Custom Room ID?
