Using the Webcam

The Webcam enables video conferencing of up to five broadcaster. For example, if there are 20 people in a room, users 1-5 can broadcast their image to all 20. If User 1, stops her broadcast, then any of the other 20 users can then start broadcasting their image.

To use the webcam:

  1. Login to a VyewBook
  2. Click on the Webcam Button in the upper right
  3. If you see a RED “X” through the “Push to Talk” button then you are not connected to our Webcam Server. Please issue a bug report for that problem.
  4. If this is your first time, a Flash Player Settings window will popup. Click ALLOW then CLOSE.
  5. You should then see your webcam broadcasting your own image.
  6. If you don’t, click the webcam icon again, to STOP, then again to START.

If you are using a Macintosh:

  • When the Flash Player Settings box appears, you may have to choose the correct webcam device.
  • Try the one that matches your device, if you’re not sure, try each one.

To enlarge Webcam videos:

The webcam pod is in the right upper area of the Vyew screen. To enlarge the videos, drag out the sidebar by dragging the dividing line between VyewBook page, and sidebar. This will enlarge the webcam pod horizontally.

Then you can enlarge the webcam video pod downward by dragging down the dividing line between webcam pod and the chat pod.

We plan on make it easier to enlarge this area in our coming version.
