To activate your Import by Email address, click on Menu → Account Settings → Activate Import by Email button on the General tab.

Highlight this address and copy (Ctrl-c) to use in an email.

How to Import via Email

• Put your import email address in the to: field.

• Type the name of a Vyew Room in the subject field– either an existing one, or if it doesn’t exist, a new one will be created.

• The text in the body of the email or any file attachments will be imported to the back of that Room.

Restrictions

• File attachment should be less than 30 MB.

• Email body should be less than 1 page of text.

• Go to other pages within your Vyew Room
• Go to another Vyew Room
• Go to a URL
• Pop up a message

Setting up a Button

• In your Vyew Room, click Insert, click More… to maximize the insert options if necessary, then click Button under Plugins.
• Hover over the button to reveal the Edit (wrench) and Move (cross arrow) icons.
• Set the actions and properties in the Button editor:
  
  • Button Label
  • Go to – Next Page, Previous Page, First Page, Last Page
  • Go to specific page – Select page by name
  • Switch to room – Go to another Vyew Room. Enter the room ID number here.
    When in a room, you can get it’s ID number by hovering your mouse over the green dot at the extreme upper left corner of Vyew.

    

  • Go to link – Enter URL here
  • Show popup message

• Click Save

Increase your speed and productivity by using keyboard shortcuts. Where relevant, we have made an effort to make Vyew’s hotkeys consistent with hotkeys from other common applications such as Microsoft PowerPoint and Word.

• Do not use any of these keywords in your Flash Actionscript code:
  • _level0.
  • _global.
  • _root. (_root can only be used if .lockroot=true)
• If you are referencing/loading any outside assets, such images, or other Flash modules, you must use an absolute path, ie. load(“http://mydomain.com/something.jpg”), instead of load(“/something.jpg”)
• If you are loading assets from another domain, you must add a crossdomain file to that domain to allow access from “http://data.vyew.com” (See cross domain section below)

What if I’m not sure about all that stuff?

You can just try to upload your app and see what happens.

1. In your Vyew Room, click IMPORT
2. Select the SWF file to load and MAKE SURE “Interactive Object” checkbox IS CHECKED.

How do I synchronize my Flash App among other Vyew Users in my meeting room?

It is possible to sync actions, for example, when one user clicks a button, the action takes place on all users in the room. To do so you must take advantage of the Vyew Client-side API. Read more.

Crossdomain Resources

To setup a crossdomain allowance, you must put a crossdomain.xml file into the root of your domain. See this example crossdomain.

Resizing instead of Zooming

When content is imported that doesn’t match the size of your screen, instead of zooming, resize the content. As all pages will be resized, this will save you from having to set the correct zoom for each page individually.

From the “My Home” tab, click on “Upload Content” in the upper left corner.

An upload window will popup. Click on a Vyew Room in the data grid which lists all of your rooms. This will mark that Vyew Room as the upload target.

Click “Select a file to upload” to choose a file. Once you choose a file, it will begin the upload process.
When it is complete, you may open up that Vyew Room to see the uploaded content.
