Less and Fewer

When editing an image, a gray floating tool bar appears to the left of the image. At the base of this tool bar is the word ‘Less’.

The word ‘Less’ refers to things which are continuous, measurable (real numbers).
The word ‘Fewer’ refers to things which are discrete, countable (integers).

In this case, the work Less refers to how many options are presented. These are countable, discrete options - thus the correct word to use is ‘Fewer’ not ‘Less’.

-son of grammarian.

Advanced text editor plugin

I would like to use Vyew to conduct code reviews for a distributed software development group. It would be handy to have an advanced text editor plugin for viewing source code in a VyewBook. At a minimum, I would like the ability to view source file formats (.cpp, .hpp, .java, .py, etc) as text files (Currently, I get import errors for text files that do not have txt extensions). It would also be necessary to show line numbers. The nice to haves would be syntax highlighting and code folding (to hide large sections of code that are not included in the review).

I would like to use Vyew to conduct code reviews for a distributed software development group. It would be handy to have support for file attachments. For instance, I would like to upload several source file attachments to a VyewBook. Each viewer should be able to view the attachment in their desired source code editor (Windows users might use Visual Studio, while Linux users might use kate, etc.).

Hello,

I would like some export options for saving/exporting pages/books to .doc, .pdf, .jpeg ... format for example.
Doc format would be very useful if you could edit the text after export.

Kind regards,

Jo

I work on a number of committees and standards bodies that could really benefit from Vyew. But one thing we need is a speakers’ queue: a way for participants to request to speak, and for moderators to recognize them in the right order. You could use chat to do this, but then you’d be forever scrolling through to see what’s up.

You could use another button like the beep button down below the chat window. It makes a sound and also puts “ATTENTION” in the chat window. How about something like that that put an icon next to your name in the participant list, with a number indicating the queue?

Hello,

It would be fantastic to be able to integrate frames (such as Google Cal, EditGrid, Vimeo, etc), and widgets.

In the pipe?

Thanks.

Video Options

I’ve been testing Vyew for the last little bit and it really looks to be a great tool. Congratulations on what you’ve acheived. One of the key features for us is the emerging video functionality. Having testing this feature out a bit there are some options I would love to see.

I would really like to see a higher quality video option. I realize that the limiting factor is bandwidth which most likely is one of your bigger expenses. So consider offering it on your paid subscriptions only. I would gladly pay a reasonable amount to have higher quality video that makes Vyew a feasible video conferencing solution.

There are some other options that would be helpful as well in regard to the video pod.

Enlarge Video: I’m simply re-iterating what has already been said ( http://vyew.com/site/forum/viewthread/1252)

Hide my own video: I know what I look like so I would like to be able to completely remove my own video feed from my screen. Screen and Pod space is a precious commodity.

Moderate Video: Mimic the mic feature where the Owner must grant users the right to broadcast their video and tie it together with the audio. In our use case we’re only interested in broadcasting from one place to many others. So each location would take a turn broadcasting their video and audio out to others. So each user will need to be a collaborator but we don’t want each one to be able to start broadcasting at whim; the owner should be able to control who is broadcasting audio and video.

 Thanks for listening,
Bryan

Floating Side Pods…

Thanks again for Vyew.

Another suggestion would be to have floating side pods kinda like most IDE’s, drag outside the pod area and it floats. It should be resize able upon floating and remember the last pod size. This would be especially interesting for the video.

Thanks.

Aaron
