Hello,

I tried to access my book yesterday 20.07.08 at 20:00 GMT, for a presentation with a couple of customers. Unfortunately the book was stuck in the loading phase.

I deleted my book and tried to upload it again, but that would not make it either.

Anybody experienced such an issue? Could it be related to load on the servers?

Vyew uses Amazon S3 Storage Services for its backend storing of files. Amazon S3 is supposed to be a reliable storage solution, but aparently it went down for part of the day yesterday.

A lot of other web services who rely on them were also affected.
No data was lost, and everything is working now.

In the past we used to have a backup server along with Amazon S3, but for maintenance cost reasons we retired the backup server since Amazon S3 has inherent backups included.

We are now going to re-instate our own automatic real-time backup server so that such an event will not cripple our file storage again.
