Vyew Discussion Forum

I am logged in and from the homepage I click “Start Sharing My Desktop” or I navigate to My VyewBooks and all I get is a completely blank screen.  I am using Firefox 3.0.1 on WinXP.  I just updated Firefox from ?2.0.16? and it worked in that version last night.  Right now I am just “test-driving” so it is not stopping me, but I will want to get this taken care of ... and know what to do if it happens to someone on the other end as well.

Let me know what info you might need to help resolve this issue.

I checked again tonight and it is doing the same thing.  Does any AdBlocker or similar prevent this site?  I can play with it, but like I said, it worked in FF2.0.16

All blockers disabled…

Pretty much all FLASH on the vyew site is non-functional. A few Home page FLASH animations work…

I reinstalled Firefox 2.0.0.16 and left everything else the same, and vyew.com desktop-sharing seemed to work fine.

I also tried it on Ubuntu 8.04 with Firefox 3.0.1, Java 1.6.0_06 and Flash 9.0 r124.  Everything seemed to work fine with desktop-sharing.

We’re in the process of evaluating several collaboration sites.

Win XP Pro, SP2
FireFox 3.05
Flash 10.0
JRE 1.6.0_11
Javascript IS enabled
Ad blocking is Disabled
Flash Block is Disabled

Attempting to load the first work spaces flashes some text but it goes away very quickly (to fast to read) and leaves a blank screen.  Frame source code shows 3 part menu ... enable javascript, download flash, something about “skip detection and load anyway”.  Third choice takes you to a non-existent page--"http://v3.75/content/vyewmain.php?mid=&max=0&md=0&vmode=vyew&detectflash=false&detectflash=false".

Site also fails on a desktop running XP Home, Firefox 3.05, jre 1.6.0_11, Flash 10

Site seems to work on desktop running Win2k with Firefox 2.0.0.20.
Also seems to work on Ubuntu 8.04.1 with Firefox 3.04

Hi. A recent user had this problem and it turns out that ADBLOCK add-on in firefox was causing the problem. He uninstalled and upgraded to Adblock Plus to fix.

Uninstalled AdBlock, enabled Adblock Plus in Firefox and the problems seems to have been fixed.
