Hi,

I am trying to use Vyew for online collaboration for an edu startup, and need to write Math equations and foreign languages (Hindi, and other Indian languages) that have non-roman script.

1.a. Can I use a digital pen to write on the virtual whiteboard ?
1.b. how effective it is to write long texts on the white board ? Can anyone who has done this let me know?

2. Also, is there a preferred digital pen that works best with Vyew (Wacom, Bamboo, genius, others)

Thanks,
Sudarshan

Hi.
Yes, a pen mouse will work with Vyew to write and draw, but you need to draw a little slower than normal so that all the points of lines and letters will be pickedup. We are working on a new version to increase this response time due out near the end of this summer.

I personal prefer wacom tablet middle of the line ... (not the cheap one), but it is best you try it out if possible with Vyew to make sure it works good for you.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. I was able to connect and use the Wacom pen very well in the Vyew whiteboard. I would like to type inside the vyew virtual whiteboard in Hindi and other languages that use a non-roman fonts. I normally have a browser based plug in that I can use to type in a browser form or text box in the language that I select. However, this does not work within vyew. Can you tell me what the best method is to type within Vyew ?

Also, could you please take some time to look at this link - http://www.quillpad.in/hindi and

http://www.quillpad.in/hindi/quillpad_widget.html

Quillpad has provided me with an API that I can embed in my webpage so that the user can type in Hindi without any installed plugins. Can you tell me how I can integrate quillpad API’s within vyew? I am excited that you have API support of external applications, but I am not sure how I can use this within vyew.

Thanks,
Sudarshan

There are 2 issues here.
1. Enter Hindi into the Vyew interface. I looked up the quillpad forums and found this:
http://www.quillpad.in/forum/viewtopic.php?p=127&sid=630209e885a5b1e6247fb113478691d7
Is this help ful?

2. Normally the Vyew servers can handle all languages but recently we had an issue where after entering a non-roman language the characters turned in to ??? question marks. We are working on this bug.

Try it and see.

Regarding the API. Im not familiar with QuillPad or the Hindi language. Must all users install Quillpad in order to type the Hindi language into a computer?
