First of all, I love your program!  It is so easy to use.

Question:  I want to restrict who can attend my sessions.  If I send out an invitation, the invitation has a link on it.  If my invitee forwards that link to another uninvited person, can that uninvited person use the link to get into my session?  If so, how do I keep the uninvited person out, even though they have the right link?

Thank you.

Hello,
At this time there is not a secure way to restrict access via invitations.
If you invite someone who IS a registered Vyew member, then only that person can access it via their login,
but if you invite someone who is not a registered Vyew member, they will be able forward that link around to people and any one can get in.

One idea we had was to give owners an option to force registration for all invitations so that theoretically only that person could use an invitation.

Please describe the application for Vyew that you require and we can think of some ways to accomadate you.

I wonder why there is no policy to force people to go through a quick registration procedure before being allowed to access anything. This would be of great help in controlling the accesses, and at least in having real names instead of just email addresses :-)
So, I guess that an additional option for a vyewbook could be to allow access only to invited *and* registered people.
What do you think?

Yes this could be an option, but what is to stop people from registering with fake a email address?
That could be useful if care more about getting the users information and less about security.

Currently, each invitation mailed out can only be used by one person at a time,
so even if that person you invited forwards it to someone else, only one of them can get in at a time.

The thing is, if you dont trust the person you’re inviting, theres not much we can do in terms of
stopping them from letting others in.

To be fair, my main issue so far about this is not about trusting the people I invite, but it is a more down to earth practical problem. At the beginning of most of my meetings, I always have to remind people to change their email address identifier into their name, so that I can recognise who they are. So, maybe an easy fix could be that when I invite people, I have to specify an email address together with a name, which will be used from that moment on (e.g., as a screen name) to identify the invitee instead of the email address; people can still change their screen name as they desire afterwords, as it happens now. Does this sound feasible?

that could work. but easier on our side would be allow the owners to set a flag on an invitation to prompt the user to enter their name right when they get into the meeting.  We already do this for guest users who come in with no invitation. i’ll pass that idea on to the team.

That would be optimal. Thanks!
